Seems that Europeans here for the world cup were surprised how friendly Americans are, how tasty the food is, and it is much safer walking around than they expected. Too bad our government doesn't represent most of us. The press they get on the USA is probably dismal. I didn't feel so patriotic as I might have on this 250th 4th. Nothing like I did for the Bicentennial.

I was surprised by people too when I first visited the States. I think, more or less we are all kind of conditioned negatively. I also remember talking about this with people and being told that skin colour and sex make a lot of difference. Which is what, everywhere. I still think, Europe has the lead. It's pretty ironic if white Europeans were surpirsed. Lol.
