I fast order cooked at a Denny's for a while until one night someone threw their eggs at a waitress, and I saw a really big rat in the storeroom. The frozen chicken individual serving pieces came in a plastic bag and the cooks would just dip the bag into the deep fryer so it would melt, and the chicken and half the melted bag would fall into the fryer without the cook having to open the bag. I certainly learned much about "time in motion" and efficiency from working that job because the place was busy and I had to have 10 or more plates going at a time.
